GOD'S HYGIENE on ABC6ONYOURSIDEIsabelle Hanson of ABC6onyourside had contacted Diane about doing a story on God's Hygiene and partnership with Project Dash to provide free delivery to our clients. Since we had just gone through a reorganization, our staff thought maybe it may be better to wait since we had no idea how many more clients would be reaching out for hygiene. Then Isabelle called to ask to do the story the afternoon of December 14. Several of our staff discussed it and decided we would put all our faith in God. Isabelle put us at ease when she interviewed Tammy, Brenda and Diane. Brenda was packing a School Dignity Box for a school with lots of needs. Diane shared how it has always been Tammy's vision to provide free delivery for hygiene products for those without transportation. Plus what a blessing it is that we can now easily arrange delivery to schools which do not have the staff available during the day to pick up needed items for their students. The story aired the same night at 10 pm on Fox News and again at 11 pm on Ch. 6 news as well as the next day. https://abc6onyourside.com/news/local/gods-hygiene-columbus-organization-partners-with-doordash-to-deliver-free-hygiene-products-oakland-park-franklin-county-ohio# The comments that came in are so positive: What a great spot on channel 6 today. My eyes filled with tears as I heard Tammy talk about the basics she did not have as a child, and how she does not want others to give up like she did. We take so much for granted. Blessings to you and Tammy both for all that you do for God's Hygiene. What great ideas to think outside the box to get supplies to the schools directly. Wonderful! We watch FOX and ABC so we’ll look forward to seeing! It’s wonderful work that you and GHHC are doing! I saw you on the news last night! What a wonderful blessing you are doing! It was really a great story. I am so glad DoorDash stepped in! FABULOUS STORY!!! Thanks so much for sharing! Your efforts are so very much appreciated by those you serve. Thank you so much!! What a very worth while organization! Thank you for all you do for others!! Love it!!! Christ is so so good! God bless you!! Of course, the next day about a dozen new clients had emailed us asking how to sign up for free delivery. The client order form and directions are located on our Resources page. Thank you Isabelle for contacting us and doing our story. We are thrilled that 2 new volunteers signed up, The Central Ohio Vintage Volkswagen Club contacted us if we would like their Car Show to benefit God's Hygiene in August 2023. Finale was 610 Radio mentioned the good we are doing. Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]. Hebrews 11:1 AMP school dignity boxUncertain what our budget could manage, we had thought it would be best not to adopt another school. But when we received this email, our hearts and spirit said, we must help them. I am the family liaison at YouthBuild Columbus Community School. Our students are in dire need of hygiene products. A lot of my students are experiencing teenage pregnancies, homelessness, low income, etc. Our school would really benefit from your DoorDash project with getting the products delivered to our school. YouthBuild Columbus Community school is a high school. We currently have about 254 students from ages 16 to 21. Most don’t have the resources or the financial means to purchase hygiene products. I listened to Tammy’s testimony on your website. So many of our students are where she used to be. So I thank you in advance! What do I need to start this process for most of my students, at the same time? I am really looking forward to working with you, hope to talk to you soon! Thank you, Brittani Orr Family Advocate YouthBuild Columbus Community School 1183 Essex Ave. Columbus, Ohio 43201 We also realized most all the items had been donated: boxes of toothpaste samples, sanitizing wipes, feminine hygiene, condoms, hats, socks, and journal books. When Project Dash did not pick up their delivery, Diane loaded the boxes into her car. It was so nice to be greeted by some of their wonderful staff which included the music teacher and intervention specialist. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 police and god's hygiene provide christmasTammy and God's Hygiene have such a good working relationship with our police officers. A Columbus Police officer reached out to help a single mom by mentoring her 9 year old son. The officer wanted the boy to be able to have a Christmas this year. He was referred to God's Hygiene Help Center to make it happen. Our volunteers, Tammy's brother Ross and his wife stepped up and offered to go shopping for the boy. They bought a fishing pole with tackle box, nerf gun, Transformer, pogo stick, GI Joe, pajamas plus some shirts. Tammy and Ross remember all too well their disappointment on Christmas morning with no presents. With the embarrassment of returning to school with no new clothes, they would go hide for a week from their classmates. We were glad to help this officer provide a really great Christmas for the boy and his mom. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. James 1:17 blessing box miracleDiane had stopped by Tammy's house and noticed how empty the Blessing Box was. Not 5 minutes go by and God responded in a big way! These environmentalists believe in improving our the city in every way. Look at these wonderful guys loading the Blessing Box. Tammy cannot thank them enough. God bless you! Merry Christmas! God is real! Thank you thank you thank you! And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 clean start basketTammy met a single mother with two children just trying to get along in life. She knew they needed a Clean Start Basket. So she packed up cleaning items, a set of towels and also included some other unkind donations as early Christmas gifts. We had received a few gently used coats so she was able to give them one coat for a child, plus hats and gloves. shoes! Shoes! Shoes!God's Hygiene Help Center was thrilled when we received a call from Upper Arlington Lutheran asking if we would like some shoes! Brown Shoes in Upper Arlington had closed and offered shoes to UALC. Diane drove our cargo van to church on Sunday to pick up 30 boxes of assorted children's shoes along with other in kind donations. Thank you Brown Shoes and UALC for helping to make a Merry Christmas for a number of families with young children! Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. ~Romans 15:13 project warmThank you so much to Holly Wilson who hand knit 20 hats with matching scarves for Project Warm. Our clients and Linden Angel volunteers so appreciate the time and love you put into this project every year. Some students and children of our clients are going to be very happy with these surprise Christmas gifts. partnership with peace church![]() In July Peace United Methodist Church in Pickerington made us their 2022 VBS Mission Partner. In the summer we received a huge amount of inkind donations. God's Hygiene Help Center received a welcome surprise on Giving Tuesday. A truck full of hygiene drove from Pickerington to 1402 Oakland Park. The church members said they prayed in a Bible Study and were led to donate hygiene and $200 every quarter. Our God is so good! They also want Tammy to return with Diane to Peace to share more about what GHHC is doing. The Bible Study members said, "This ministry has blessed us more than what we have given." And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 AMP celebrating our volunteersGod's Hygiene is blessed with an amazing team of volunteers who sacrifice their time to serve those in need through all kinds of weather. This year we held a Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon at Fujijama Steak House. Everyone enjoyed relaxing, taking time to visit and enjoying excellent service and food. We were sorry that 3 members of our Linden Angels Team were unable to attend: Candace Cisman, Stephanie Hazen and Lisa Ryan. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. Romans 12:10 Wow! What a wonderful group picture. What a wonderful wonderful group of people. I could not be more blessed to work with some of the most amazing people I have ever met. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your amazing group. I know that I was there in spirit. Go LindenAngels! Blessings, Candace We so enjoy every morning that Thomas sends us an inspirational message in our group text: Good morning. The closer we get to God we are given the opportunities to embrace the new possibilities as they arise. Faith is taking the next step even when you don't see the whole staircase. God is in the business of making a way out of no way. God bless Good morning. God intervenes in our life with the purpose of preventing us from destroying ourselves. God offers us a passage to transition from ordinary to extraordinary. As we move into alignment with God's will, He will elevate us to the next level. God bless. new volunteer![]() I happened upon God’s Hygiene by chance. This is not entirely true, as I believe God led me to them. I saw the news story on ABC6onyourside on their new partnership with Door Dash. It caught my attention. Here were people doing some good, helping a hurting community, taking action instead of just sitting back and complaining about the state of the world. Better still, they were looking for volunteers to help. I felt God tug at my heart and say, I want you to go and lend a helping hand. Why did I want to join? Ever since becoming a Christian in college, I have felt it is vitally important for people to do their part to help each other. This world is difficult for everyone. Verses in the Bible remind us, "Whatever you did for others, you did for Jesus." (my paraphrase) Matthew 25:34-40 AMP. “Keep on loving each other…Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers…” Hebrews 13:1-2. The pandemic has made it even tougher for people to get just the basics. The pandemic also brought about a disconnect with the community. In the past I have worked with my previous church serving at the Fruit of the Vine. It has been years since I was actively involved in serving. Family and the pandemic took me out of serving for many years. In my heart I knew many people were out there, needing help, but I did not know what I could do to help. I am not blessed financially, but God has blessed me with the ability to do a great number of things. I have experience in administration, food service, retail work, computers, managing, graphic design, data entry, and marketing. I am willing and want to help out wherever is most needed. I am very excited at the opportunity to work together with the group of volunteers at God’s Hygiene. They have many amazing programs and they are able to help so many. I can not wait to see how God will help us to bless others and I am so thankful to be a part of this. Kristie Withrow “And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God.” Hebrews 13:16
