But instead of giving away the items at our Help Center, Tammy knew just the place where to take the items. The children and their mothers were so appreciative to receive over 50 outfits ghhc helps the homelessTammy received a phone call from Stacy Schad at UALC. There was a homeless woman at The Church at Mill Run and the church staff wanted to help her. Tammy got busy putting together needed hygiene: soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, washcloth, towel, socks, first aid kit, blanket, hat, mittens, a new coat and a Bible. She knew another person may show up so she packed an extra set of items. Our God is so amazing in His timing. Just yesterday at GHHC a volunteer brought in 6 new coats she had bought at Home Buys at only $6 each! We are glad to pass our in kind donations to those who can use them. clean start basketsHeather received her Clean Start basket on Saturday, February 10. She was excited to receive the basket full of the household items that she needed. Heather served 9 years in Ohio Reformatory for Women but she has finally found her first place. Jan Roberts, Kindway UPPER ARLINGTON LUTHERAN CHURCH HELP WITH GHHC PROGRAMSOn Saturday, March 2, 2024, God's Hygiene Help Center (GHHC) hosted the Upper Arlington Lutheran Church's (UALC) middle school youth group (MSM) at the Twenty-Eight:19 Christian Ministry Center located at 948 Oakland Park Avenue in Columbus. UALC's Middle School Director, Mary Kate Hipp, and 30 middle-school age boys and girls joined GHHC's volunteers in completing four (4) unique projects: 1) assembling 20 hygiene bags for The Butterflies celebration; 2) assembling hygiene items for Blessing Bags for the homeless; 3) packing household and kitchen supplies into laundry baskets for GHHC's Clean Start Baskets, and 4) writing heartfelt and encouraging messages and Scripture verses for the various packages. One would be encouraged to know the youth of UALC have the hearts of servants with the profound messages written. While the group enjoyed pizza, Tammy Jewell, GHHC Founder, also spoke to the youth of her experiences of living an impoverished life and the importance of being kind to people ; and to look for other youth, either at school or in the community, who need help, who could use a friend, who might need encouragement, and give to them if they are in need. CATCH Court (creating autonomy through collaborative healing) is a specialized docket in the Franklin County Municipal Court for women in the system who are victims of human trafficking. This year Melissa invited Tammy and Diane to be part of the celebration. We brought the 20 bags of hygiene which the Middle Schoolers packed. When we asked if Tammy could have time to share her story and how she came to Jesus, Melissa replied, "I would love for this Sunday to be about inspiration, hope and about their worth. How proud we are of them and all their accomplishments they have already achieved. These are the Survivors of Human Trafficking who have already gone through the 2 year program through CATCH Court. But always love encouraging words of affirmation to the girls. Tammy's a wonderful soul and angel. I would love for her to say some amazing words of encouragement. It's the beginning of the week for International Woman's day. So love the fact of making next Sunday inspirational and empowering women!!!!" We had a "Day of Beauty" event for an incredible group of lovely ladies called The Butterflies... They are Survivors that were caught up in the corrupted world of Human Trafficking... The salon was full of love, compassion and inspiration... We all think we are doing something great for them and giving them this gift. OUTREACHDecember and January were busy months of connection and sharing the Gospel. Aside from the lives we touch at our Center, we were privileged to speak with a group of 4th grade students at the Reset program and two groups of middle schoolers attending the Parable Project. twentyeight19.org/programs/ Each group was spellbound by Tammy's honesty and ability to connect with their lives. Tammy spoke about 15 minutes, in part she told them: "In fourth grade, I was unable to have school supplies or even be in a school longer than a few months. When I was in fifth grade my mom went to prison we would live everywhere. I only went to school to check in. I stopped learning in fifth grade. Now I can’t hold a job anywhere, not even at McDonald’s. So stay in school, respect your parents, and respect others. Please do not bully those who have nothing but maybe help them. If you have an extra sweater or an extra pen or pencil, offer it to that person. You never know what somebody else is going through. What if that was you and you had no school supplies, no clothes and felt so ashamed that you hid in the cold in the woods. And now you have no education to go further in life or to keep a job. God changed my life and he will lead you down great roads, but you must listen to God and respect your parents and teachers. So please remember God loves you. Stay in school. Don’t be the fool and always do right, even when no one’s looking. Help each other." After the talk and a few questions, each student was given a Student Hygiene Bag: a drawstring backpack with shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, hand sanitizer, comb, hat, gloves and information for parents about accessing GHHC. It is such a blessing that the Twenty-eight:19 twentyeight19.org ministry we partner with provides spaces for these types of Christian based ministries to collaborate. We were also blessed to speak to a wonderful Bible Study group from Rock City Church. Again, Tammy gave a compelling talk about how God can use anyone's life for His glory and what a joy it is to walk with Him. We look forward to an ongoing relationship with these Godly women. To arrange a speaker for your small group or organization, please contact Kathryn Farrar executivedirector@godshygiene.org clean start basketsSonya received her Clean Start Basket after she was released from the Alvis House. She spent 10 years in Ohio Reformatory for Women. This is what she had to say about the basket. "Thanks again!. That basket and the stuff in it is amazing. Super beneficial! Thanks for the gift of love! The God’s Hygiene team which builds the basket is truly a blessing." In 2023 God's Hygiene packed 18 Clean Start Baskets for those released through the Kindway and Embark programs www.kindway.org. Tammy also created 5 additional Baskets for those graduating from area treatment centers. Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 project warmIt's getting chilly outside! PROJECT WARM has started. Will you help us keep students and people in need warm with hats and gloves? Thank you to the Beacons of Upper Arlington Lutheran Church for donating the beautiful quilts and blankets. Today Tammy wanted to help this little guy get warm with a hat and gloves set. GHHC really needs kids and adult gloves and hats. We are also accepting donations of scarves, new underwear, socks, blankets and gently used coats. Large donations may be brought to God's Hygiene Help Center, 1402 Oakland Park Avenue, Columbus 43224. GHHC is located just east of Oakland Nursery and Karl Road in the parking lot next to Donato's. Volunteers are there every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 am - 1:00 pm. You can see our orange garage doors in the back of the parking lot. Smaller donations may be left at the Exchange Center at UALC on Mill Run. We praise God for the resources and volunteers that enable us to reach people in need. Your gifts and prayers help us share the love of Jesus and show people that "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear." Psalm 45:1-2. Thank you, and God bless you. Linden life fellowship resource nightMatthew 22:37–39, "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. The second most important is similar: ‘Love your neighbor as much as you love yourself’" (TLB). Linden Life Fellowship invited God's Hygiene Help Center to be part of their resource night for parents. The parents heard about free resources provided by Columbus Works, Linden Fresh Produce Market, NNEMAP Food Pantry and GHHC. GHHC gave the parents laundry detergent and sanitizing wipes. school hygiene boxesThank you so very much for your kind donation to our school! We were able to provide a handful of students with toothbrushes, toothpaste, and other hygiene products because of your agency! Myself, YB staff, and our students thank you so much for your partnership. Here is a photo of two of our amazing students who helped organize the items on our shelves in preparation for students to take what they need! Casey Church Family Advocate | AmeriCorps YouthBuild Columbus Community School God's Hygiene received this email from a school nurse. My name is Sara Klose, or Nurse K, and I’m the school nurse at Yorktown Middle School on the east side of Columbus – with Columbus City Schools. We are in desperate need of hygiene products for our students. Unfortunately, many of our students are unable to afford these items and turn to the school to provide and assist in purchasing these products for our students. However, as the school nurse in our middle school – I have very limited funding and only a $300 annual budget for medical supplies. Oftentimes, I find myself having to buy these items because the funds are just not there! That is why I am reaching out to your organization to assist in any way possible – any type of donation would be appreciated and well-received from our students in need. We are in need of any toiletry and hygiene type of products that include maxi pads, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, edge control, wipes, body sprays for boys and girls, and leggings/pants/shorts in ALL sizes for girls (and boys). Not only do our students not have the basic items at home, but when an “accident” occurs at our middle school, we want them to feel like we can take care of them and lessen any burden on home to bring the student a new pair of pants and underpants. Thank you for your time and consideration – we all truly appreciate your mission! Our dedicated executive director called to talk to Nurse K about their needs. She then packed School Hygiene Boxes for the nurse at Yorktown Middle School and Columbus Adventist Academy. Students are so much in need for basic hygiene. Thank you for supporting our efforts to help them. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. PSALM 107:1 student hygiene bagsTammy and Kathryn spoke at North Baptist Church last month. Michael Tillis was impressed when he heard about GHHC's newest project to give hygiene bags to students while sharing the gospel. He had retired from ATT and had been looking for an organization who needed 200 drawstring bags. We are so blessed that God had us partner together. Later that week St. James the Less School reached out to to our North Linden police liaison Office Bill Varney where they could get needed hygiene for their students. Isn't our God amazing how he fills the need. the parable projectTammy and Kathryn shared at the Parable Project at Twenty-Eight:19 about the importance of staying in school and how Tammy grew up without basic hygiene. God's Hygiene Help Center then presented Student Hygiene Bags to each student, Cheryl's Cookies and Trick or Treat candy. Middle school students meet every Monday and Wednesday from school dismissal until 7pm. Each week the Parable Project Program Director and a team of volunteers lead up to 15 students in activities and group time focusing on discipleship, mentoring, fellowship, life-skill development, and assistance with education. They also provide meals to every student who attends. Twenty-Eight:19 is another nonprofit located just down the street from GHHC. The origin of their name can be found in the New Testament. It comes from a passage in the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 28, verse 19, which says: “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” To the team at TwentyEight:19, this means dedicating their lives to serving others, especially those in most need, and to bringing the light of the gospel to them. They believe that a focus on improving the family environment is the critical path to making lasting changes, improving lives, and ultimately making disciples. GHHC is happy to partner with Twenty-Eight:19 since we share similar missions of sharing the love of Jesus with others. During the winter months we will be holding our monthly Prayer Gatherings in their building. calumet christianOn Saturday, November 4, Kathryn and Tammy met with adult and student volunteers from Calumet Christian School. Tammy shared her story and the ladies packed hygiene bags. clintonville rotaryTammy shared her story with members of the Clintonville Rotary and Diane shared about God's Hygiene projects. Last Friday these Rotary members wanted to see for themselves what we do at our Help Center. Thank you that they brought in kind donations of socks, bandaids, and even coffee items. We gave them a tour, Tammy shared more of her story and we answered their questions. They were reassured that we serve all clients regardless of their religious beliefs and only offer them prayer and a Bible. She then shared us that the Rotary District has organized a Sock Drive and that GHHC will be receiving them! Our Heavenly Father, we thank You for the great principle of thanksgiving. May we as a people find it more deeply embedded in our life, to the extent that it was practiced by our forebears. May we as individuals know and practice the law that thanks givers indeed become blessing receivers and so live. And for this , accept our humble gratitude. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Norman Vincent Peale IN KIND DONATIONSWe are so grateful for Fellowship Bible Chapel in Sunbury, Ohio. This is the second time that this church has organized a donation drive to benefit God's Hygiene Help Center. They collected and donated the most requested hygiene items: laundry detergent, toilet paper, and paper towels. Thank you Bill for delivering the huge quantity of hygiene items shown below. GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity. GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. Join the movement and give – each Tuesday and every day – whether it’s some of your time, a donation, or the power of your voice in your local community. It’s a simple idea: whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts and everyone has something to contribute toward building the better world we all want to live in. Some employers such as Chase will double or triple your donation on GivingTuesday. Would you please consider checking with your organization and making a donation on Tuesday, November 28. You may make a donation to God's Hygiene for GivingTuesday here. Thank you! Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. Galatians 6:10 UA GIRLS GOLF TEAMTina Husted, the Ohio Lt. Governor's wife is also the coach for the Upper Arlington Girls' Golf Team. Mrs. Husted invited Kathryn Farrar and Tammy to come to their home to share with the team about Tammy growing up in poverty and the need for hygiene items. The team then filled 40 bags of hygiene for other girls with toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, plus socks, energy bars, and a bottle of water. Thank you for caring and your generosity! On Sunday, September 24 Kathryn Farrar and Tammy Jewell spoke to the small congregation at North Baptist Church on Charleston Avenue in Clintonville. In October they will share with the Clintonville Rotary Club. If your organization, small group or church would like to hear Tammy's story and how we serve our community with needed hygiene and dignity, please email executivedirector@godshygiene.org NEW HYGIENE ITEMOur new volunteer Cindy Lach visited her dermatologist for a body itch. The doctor looked at her hand and said first we have to take this off. It was an eye opening experience for Cindy and wants to caution everybody else to see your dermatologist and take care when you go out in the sun year around. Cindy suggested to add sunscreen to our inventory of hygiene items. Our Board gladly accepted her suggestion and now it will be one of six items available each month for our clients to choose to receive. tree of life fall festivalGod's Hygiene Help Center had the honor of partnering with the Tree of Life campus in Dublin on September 29 for their Fall Family Fun Night. The students and their families helped to fill our GHHC van with much needed hygiene to serve the Linden community. The generosity of Tree of Life will touch the lives of many as they donated 219 items, along with monetary donations. Thank you! All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. 2 Corinthians 4:15 helping the homelessThis man visited God's Hygiene Help Center this week. Tammy recognized him because he frequented the Blessing Box on Howey Road and was always very polite. He shared with Tammy that he had been in an auto accident two months ago, felt confused, lost and was having a difficult time. She was able to share resources where to get assistance for treatment as well as the food pantries close by. Someone had donated a sleeping bag which she game to him along with some basic hygiene items. Most important he wanted prayer and Tammy was able to pray with him. How gracious he will be when you cry for help! As soon as he hears, he will answer you. Isaiah 30:19 b thank you to our north linden liaison |
Jennifer came with her son Dakota to God's Hygiene and asked could we help volunteer before we get any hygiene? Of course! David showed them how he dries the buckets before placing them in plastic bags. Afterwards Jennifer asked, "Can you pray for me? He left us after 5 years and took her last $20 out of her savings." Tammy, Kathy and Diane gathered around her to pray. Then Tammy shared resources to get some free community help. |

Sanctuary Night is a sacred space serving vulnerable women* who need a place to rest, eat, connect, and get desired resources. It is a vibrant community led by survivors and champions to promote the flourishing of all who sit at our table.
The daughter of a long time volunteer asked God's Hygiene if we could help by providing 30 blessing bags. So we bought cosmetic bags and filled them with in kind donations of cologne, chapstick, phone charger, soap, and other hygiene items.

young volunteers to the rescue
Brenda Andracki, our Inventory Coordinator, had gone shopping for stock. GHHC always goes to the stores with the best prices. Her pickup truck was loaded down. Several neighbor boys had just returned from their bike ride. "Can you guys come with me to help unload?" One young man had finished year at Ft. Hayes and wanted to begin earning his community service hours. The two younger brothers wanted to join him and will continue volunteering over the summer. What a great way for them to earn their community service hours this summer! |
hey hygiene lady
Tammy went to Milestone Pharmacy at Northern Lights to pick up a prescription with her friend Dana. She saw a beautiful blond also waiting in line for her order. She exclaimed, "Hygiene lady, hey hygiene lady. Remember me? You and the ladies at God's Hygiene helped me 3 years ago to sober up. I've now graduated from Medina. I have everything I need--a job, an apartment and all the hygiene I need. Can you give me a hug? I have more than I ever needed thanks to God's Hygiene and I want to give back!"
A man standing in line said, "Me too. I am 3 years sober and clean, working and staying on my medication. I also have my own apartment and have everything I need thanks to God's Hygiene. May I also have a hug?"
Tammy replied, "I'm so proud of you both. Come be a volunteer when you have time." God opened their hearts with the love of Jesus through GHHC. Now two more productive citizens.

former atheist gives back
Several months ago a client came and was parked in the wrong spot, so volunteers didn't see her to take her ID and give her a client order form. She walked up to our door and was very aggravated that we had not waited on her. She was very angry. Lisa told her, "Jesus will help you soon."
"Don't say that to me, I'm an atheist."
When Kathy lost her husband, she came back to GHHC crying with her car full with pillows, blankets, 2 dogs and a cat. Kathy was a veteran and never had been homelesss. She had no place to go and didn't know where to go. All her clothes were dirty. Tammy told her she could sleep in her car underneath the God's Hygiene sign. Tammy then referred her to The Dream Center to get a shower and do her laundry. Kathy did and was so happy. She returned to Tammy all clean. Tammy also referred her to St. Stephen's to get counseling.
Now Kathy wanted to give back. She belongs to a Garden Club which gave her flats of flowers to share with our GHHC volunteers.
Thank you Kathy.

what's new at ghhc
God's Hygiene Help Center's focus is sharing The Word along with giving out needed hygiene and cleaning items. GHHC wants to stay in line with our vision of providing dignity and hope through hygiene to those in need with the compassion of Jesus. It is about developing a relationship and providing a choice of hygiene to our clients, not just handing out a bag of products. With Project Dash, we had no direct connection to our clients receiving orders so we discontinued that program. Our staff is hoping to set up our own delivery service while offering prayer later this year.
We are reaching out to other area ministries about starting an outreach to children in the Linden area sharing Jesus and hygiene.
The Linden Market located at 1464 Cleveland Avenue in South Linden, provides a choice of free produce daily to their market members. Their staff has been begging God's Hygiene Help Center to provide some hygiene to their clients. In June we will send 2 volunteers every month to give out hygiene at The Linden Market. Clients will will receive hand sanitizer plus have a choice of toilet paper, laundry detergent or body wash. We can also provide free Bibles and prayer.

amazing prayer gathering
Trina Oates shared a very inspiring message on "Darkness" on May 2. Thank you to Kristie who shared her notes. What was most amazing is that a man came to GHHC that day needing resources, and he stayed for the Prayer Gathering. Tony was able to be prayed over and the message through God's Word was especially for him that day. He got fed The Word plus lunch.
Jesus knows about darkness. (Luke 44:46). The hopelessness darkness brings, the uncertainty and fear it brings. But things are not as they seem to be. The darkness can bring a blessing in disguise.
What do we do when darkness invades our life? How do we overcome? Trials and tribulations, hardships and sorrows, through it all God is working. (God calls the light into being Genesis 1:3) God made a way where there was no way! God does for us what we were unable to do.
Nothing is too hard for God!
God had a plan.
Jesus is our present help in times if trouble.
He demonstrated His complete trust in the Father Luke 23:45
We can trust God our Father, too.
Thank you Trina for sharing this message with all of us. We hold the monthly Prayer Gathering the first Tuesday of every month at 1 pm at 1402 OAKLAND PARK.

st. stephen's outreach
Tammy had a table with free community resources which we share with our clients at this St. Stephen's Mother's Day event. She passed out free Buckeye Health phone chargers, Cheryl's Cookies, Bibles, and invitations to our monthly Prayer Gathering. All the speakers quoted scripture. The doctor who shared the main message with the title "Get Your House in Order"--through prayer, networking and spiritually, The staff at St. Stephen's told her they really want to partner with God's Hygiene Help Center. Tammy replied that GHHC does not want to just give out hygiene products, we want to also share about God's love with people. They said, "We are all about God here!" So as soon as our Executive Board can work out the process, GHHC will start handing out hygiene and God's Word at St. Stephen's.

While the parents were registering, Lisa handed out our paper with hours we are open and invitations to our monthly Prayer Gathering, God's Hygiene Help Center registered to be one of the Linden organizations sharing resources at the Spring into Summer neighborhood event. Lisa, Diane and Candace volunteered to staff our table. We provided crayons at our table and gave Prayer Journals for students to color. GHHC was blessed that these children's journals were donated to GHHC by Upper Arlington Lutheran Church. This is the perfect use for them.
We talked with the librarian from the Linden branch of Columbus Metropolitan Library. They want to partner with us and have space there for us. In the summer a number of children and homeless hang out at the library to stay cool and get lunch.
There were a lot of families there. We shared free community resources with the parents and offered them hand sanitizer. Each family could choose a small Blessing Bag.
Candace prayed with 7 people. We gave away 5 Bibles. The kids were amazing. One young boy opened his prayer journal and started coloring and talking away to "Grandma Lisa".
Lisa shared with another boy B that God loves you. He replied, "God hates *#% and I kiss boys."
Lisa says, "That's why we're here. God does love you."
B: He really loves me?
Lisa: Yes! I'll pray for you.
She hugged him and he rejoined his friends.
9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Romans 12:9-10

clean start baskets
When Paul Sparks of the Kindway/Embark program contacted Tammy that he needed a men's basket on Tuesday for a man being released, Amber who is usually the first to arrive at the Help Center, was happy to get right on the project.
This is a shout out to Amber Bennett. It was her very first time packing a Clean Start Basket. She is a super volunteer and a super person all the way around as one of our fabulous Linden Angels. #where the love of Jesus wins.
Tammy has developed a relationship with some of the employees at Kroger at East North Broadway. The floral department donates their unused flower buckets to GHHC and Tammy provides a hug, prayer and hygiene to those in need, One woman named Tiffany is going through a divorce. Her husband only left her with a toothbrush. So Tammy asked our executive director about helping her out with a Clean Start Basket. Kathryn said, "Yes, if we have it, give her whatever she needs."
Thank you to those wonderful supporters who have donated extra items such as dishes, pots and pans which we can place in the Clean Start Baskets.

new business partners
Karen Dawson, of CareSource, reached out to our staff about the possibility of partnering with God's Hygiene Help Center. Kathryn Farrar, our Executive Director, talked with Karen how we could work together for the benefit of our clients. On May 9 she brought nearly 100 toothbrushes to give out to our clients. Karen will begin sharing with our clients about CareSource twice a month beginning in June.
We have been referring clients to the food pantry at The Salvation Army on Karl Road. They told Tammy that they appreciate all that we do to help provide dignity to the community. So they asked to partner with God's Hygiene Help Center. Every Tuesday they will bring their food truck to the 1414 Oakland Park parking lot. Our GHHC volunteers, neighbors and Phoenix clients can get free lunch. Thank you Salvation Army for serving us! On May 23 we got our first free lunch--chicken sandwich, choice of chips and bottled water served by Ray Valdez of the Worthington Salvation Army.
For the list of all our community and business partners, click on the Projects tab. We are thankful to work with our wonderful partners so that we can better serve our clients.
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17

thank you's from medina sober living clients
I asked David, our wonderful GHHC volunteer who has graduated from the Medina Sober Living program if any clients would like to let us know how God's Hygiene has helped their lives. The next week we received several thank you letters. What they wrote is in their own words and spelling.
I was stuck in abusive relationship & really bad on Drugs. I couldnt seam to find a way out. Until I reached out for help through Ohio Guidestone. So they sent me to Stepping Stones in Portsmouth. I did 100 days there and came back to Columbus to Minerva/Medina. and 3 days after I came they gave me a sheet of paper (GHHC Client Order Form) to fill out. and told me to pick 6 items. Im really gratful for the items you guys donated. I was able to clean my cloths, house, shave, etc. thank you!
Dear God's Hygine, Thank for everything you've helped me out with I came in with nothing and you guys have helped me get through. I was one of the worst addicts out there I'm from the westside (Bottoms). I was on fentanyl and meth. I used for over 15 years until Jan 20 of this year. I was sick and tired of being tired and sick and also I was tired of being a piece of s*#* dad and I hit my rock bottom, but now Im sober and have been for 4 months and 5 days. thanks for your support.
My name is Tara. I have been struggling with addiction for most of my life. I was in a very abusive relationship which led me into the hospital. While I was withdrawing a case worker gave me the option to go to Minerva. There I completed successfully and moved into Medina. Coming here with no money was stressful. I want to thank you guys for everything that you do. It truly helps me and others here.
We appreciate all the stuff you guys give to us it relly helps when you dont have money to buy thaings that you need for your house
My father was an alcoholic and it destroyed our family. I promised myself that I would never follow in his footsteps. Now, 40 yrs later I am fighting the same battle. I tried to stop drinking on my own but I could not. The obsession to drink was relentless. I tried to remain sober "one day at a time." It did not work. I tried 12 step programs and they did not help.
It wasn't until I asked God to intervine that I found peace. By Gods will and not my own I realized I was not alone in this world. Today I do not drink. But more importantly I walk w/ God every day w/the power of prayer.
Dear Alcohol,
Goodbye good ridence, this toxic relationship has run it's course. you've tried to blindside me into thinking that you were all i needed while slowly sending me to an early grave. Each day without you I've grown stronger, the voice inside my head telling me to run back to you is merely a faint whisper of desperation the more steps i take towards the light from the dark depths of despair, my old comfort, a familiar destination. BUT NO MORE! You have drove long enough Im done being sick as *#&%! Im now controlling this ride sass get used to the trunk. My name is __________- and I'am Enough!
I have been struggling with addiction for 10 years. 5 months ago I entered into drug and alcohol treatment for the last time with nothing but the clothes on my back. Throughout the journey I have entered into a relationship with GOD. I have found that I cannot stay sober without GOD. Places like GOD'S HYGIENE are proof to me that GOD is real and that with Him I will always be taken care of. I am so grateful today for the kindness and compassion shown to me by the volunteers at God's Hygiene.
