what's the difference?Thank you for your email asking about the difference between the original God's Hygiene Help Center and any other hygiene center. God's Hygiene Help Center wants to stay in line with our vision of providing dignity and hope through hygiene to those in need with the compassion of Jesus. GHHC's focus is sharing The Word along with giving out needed hygiene and cleaning items. It is about developing a relationship and providing a choice of hygiene to our clients as well as prayer, not just handing out a bag of products. Our clients come to us every 30 days and receive a choice of 6 hygiene items, plus scripture bookmarks, Our Daily Bread, and offered a Bible and prayer. We get to know our clients and develop a relationship with them. We also offer resources where to get other help in the community--food pantries close to God's Hygiene, where to go for help with utilities, rent, etc. Thus we provide real hope and dignity through hygiene and they know it is all from God. We are also an all volunteer staff so that we are good stewards of the donations given to us. Please come by 1402 Oakland Park for a visit any Tuesday or Thursday between 10:30 am - 1:00 pm to see how we operate. Or if you prefer you can invite a few friends over and Tammy can come share her story of growing up in poverty without basic hygiene and how God told her to open up God's Hygiene Help Center. You may contact Kathryn Farrar, our Executive Director, at executivedirector@godshygiene.org A new volunteer said, "Do you know what I like about volunteering at God's Hygiene? It's how the volunteers really care and support each other saying please, thank you, how are you, praying for each other." Yes! That is another way which makes GHHC so special and different! We are like a family. 15 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” 16 And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them. Mark 10:15-16 new partnership![]() Dear Tammy Jewell and Kathryn Farrar It is a pleasure joining with you to enhance the lives of our neighbors. Our efforts were successful last year, and the current year promises to be at least as effective. Through Northland Star Partners, several congregations, and individuals, decided to support the work of GHHC. This year, a few more congregations are considering ways of supporting GHHC by means of volunteerism, cash donations and material support. Our work and partnership will not stop there. Northland Star Partners will continue its advocacy for this ministry, in addition to providing prayer support and material assistance. As discussed in other settings, a check is enclosed to symbolize our commitment to helping you serve our neighbors in need. May we see their lives improve by our joint efforts and may we see the need for our kind of work diminish. Thank you for all you do. We look forward to continuing our partnership with God's Hygiene Help Center. Reverend Dr. Callon W. Holloway, Jr. Dir. For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Isaiah 41:13 GHHC AT LINDEN MARKETGod's Hygiene recently had the opportunity to partner with the Linden Market. The Linden Market has groceries that have been donated for their clients to choose from. Their process for distributing is similar to GHHC. Clients get checked in, they select their items. They have volunteers who help set up. GHHC was able give clients a choice of laundry detergent, toilet paper, or body wash along with a hand sanitizer and information about our Center and invitation to that day's Prayer Gathering. Most importantly, we were able the share the the vision of GHHC with pray and the word of God. We were very pleased with number of them joining us that afternoon for a message, Donato's Pizza, water, Cheryl's Cookie and prayer. It was a beautiful day. What a blessing that we can partner with The Linden Market so we can expand our outreach to the South Linden community. We served 70 clients at Linden Market and will return monthly with more hygiene products. You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat. For the breath of the ruthless is like a storm driving against a wall. Isaiah 25:4 in kind donationsWe so appreciate any in-kind donations we receive from either UALC church members, clients or neighbors. Thank you to the neighbor who brought adult pull ups which senior citizens often request. Thank you also to the Quilter's Guild at Upper Arlington Lutheran Church which donated seven beautiful handmade quilts. Tammy always knows of a family or person in need of a special blanket. We believe in paying it forward. Someone donated 26 cans of baby formula valued at $1000. Tammy was able to pass them on to the director of Brightside Academy early education and childcare center on Cleveland Avenue. Thank you! Your donations allowed us to pack 4 Clean Start Baskets during June to donate to people in the Kindway/Embark programs. This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. —Psalm 118:24 a CLIENT VOLUNTEERS

It is a vibrant community led by survivors and champions to promote the flourishing of all who sit at our table. The daughter of a long time volunteer asked God's Hygiene if we could help by providing 30 blessing bags. So we bought cosmetic bags and filled them with in kind donations of cologne, chapstick, phone charger, soap, and other hygiene items. young volunteers to the rescue
hey hygiene ladyTammy went to Milestone Pharmacy at Northern Lights to pick up a prescription with her friend Dana. She saw a beautiful blond also waiting in line for her order. She exclaimed, "Hygiene lady, hey hygiene lady. Remember me? You and the ladies at God's Hygiene helped me 3 years ago to sober up. I've now graduated from Medina. I have everything I need--a job, an apartment and all the hygiene I need. Can you give me a hug? I have more than I ever needed thanks to God's Hygiene and I want to give back!" A man standing in line said, "Me too. I am 3 years sober and clean, working and staying on my medication. I also have my own apartment and have everything I need thanks to God's Hygiene. May I also have a hug?" Tammy replied, "I'm so proud of you both. Come be a volunteer when you have time." God opened their hearts with the love of Jesus through GHHC. Now two more productive citizens. former atheist gives backSeveral months ago a client came and was parked in the wrong spot, so volunteers didn't see her to take her ID and give her a client order form. She walked up to our door and was very aggravated that we had not waited on her. She was very angry. Lisa told her, "Jesus will help you soon." "Don't say that to me, I'm an atheist." When Kathy lost her husband, she came back to GHHC crying with her car full with pillows, blankets, 2 dogs and a cat. Kathy was a veteran and never had been homelesss. She had no place to go and didn't know where to go. All her clothes were dirty. Tammy told her she could sleep in her car underneath the God's Hygiene sign. Tammy then referred her to The Dream Center to get a shower and do her laundry. Kathy did and was so happy. She returned to Tammy all clean. Tammy also referred her to St. Stephen's to get counseling. Now Kathy wanted to give back. She belongs to a Garden Club which gave her flats of flowers to share with our GHHC volunteers. Thank you Kathy. 4 Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: 6 He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun. 7 Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Psalm 37:4-7 welcome CPD north linden liasonWe love our Columbus Police officers. Our Community Liaison North Linden, Officer Bill Varney, stopped by God's Hygiene just to say hello and meet our volunteers. We feel blessed to partner with CPD and Officer Bill. CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR VOLUNTEERAll the GHHC staff are proud of David Pickett. We celebrated him this month with a cake and delicious sub sandwiches. He had his graduation ceremony from Minerva Park Behavioral Health program. David is always on time, friendly and helpful in any way at God's Hygiene. Now a volunteer is helping refer him to available apartments and jobs in the area.
