tammy's blessing box helps the hungryThank you to 2 wonderful sisters and Tammy who restock the Blessing Box several times a day. In upper left photo, a neighbor is paying it forward and taking a turn bringing donations for the box. The center photo shows how well stocked they keep it with tuna, pop up cans of soup, cookies, sandwiches and more. The Blessing Box is located at 3022 Howey Road, next to Tammy's home, so she is able to watch who visits it. One man was standing outside the box in the snow for an hour. She walked out and asked if he needed any help. He was a special needs man we had served at Oakland Park Help Center who walked from McGuffey to get help. He complained about his feet and shoes. Tammy was able to give him new thick socks we had just bought, hand warmers for his feet and hands, hat, gloves and scarf as well as some snacks. Thank you to Tony Thomas for your faithfulness delivering loaves of bread for sandwiches from the bakery where you work. Klosterman Baking Company has offered to supply us with unlimited bread each week to make more peanut butter and jelly sandwiches as well as bologna and cheese sandwiches. We so appreciate their willingness to help feed our hungry neighbors. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Thank you to our wonderful donors that we can serve those most in need in our neighborhood. A generous volunteer not only stocks our Blessing Box several times a week, but she also delivers pizza to Tammy's house. Tammy then just posts on Facebook and hands them out the door. Yes, we can always give away any gently used coats, hats, gloves, scarves and baby clothes which are donated. A young mother who did not speak English and no car sent an email message to godshygiene@gmail.com that she was in need of hygiene. We answered her email that our Oakland Park Help Center was not open due to the frigid cold. But if she would send a list of 6 items needed, she could send her husband to pick up the bag. Tammy blessed her with these wonderful baby items which God led a wonderful volunteer to donate plus new hats, gloves, and scarves just bought. Thank you for sharing with us so we can share some love with others. Julia Jewell posted on her Facebook page: These amazing ladies of Gods Hygiene Help Center give their all to the community on a daily basis. It's just who they are and what they do So I wasn't one bit surprised when Tammy Jewell reached out to me when she heard there was a family in need. Thank you for your hygiene products donation to our veteran in need at our local VFW #YouAreYourBrothersKeeper. clean start for embark![]() Where love wins!!!!! CELEBRATING TERRY'S BIRTHDAY Terry exclaimed, "Feeling so loved and blessed today!! That you for your love and wonderful birthday celebration!"
Most of our neighbors in need that we serve have experienced difficult and challenging circumstances in their lives. Their hardships can impact their attitude although most of ourclients are very grateful to receive hygiene and cleaning products and God’s love. On Thursday, there was an incident that upset Tammy. She was offering hats and scarves to people who came to our help center and gave one to a woman in a car. There was also a man in the car who had a hat on so Tammy had not given him one. He became agitated and began screaming at Tammy and was abusive. Tammy came into the help center very upset and said that she did not think we should serve this man. So Tammy and I went out to the car. I spoke with the man and told him: “We serve you out of love and to share God’s love. We want to help you but we will not allow our people to be yelled at or abused. You made Tammy very upset. We love you and want to serve you. If you will apologize to Tammy, we will be glad to serve you. God’s love is shared here and we treat our clients with love and respect. We hope that you can treat us with respect too.” The man, who obviously had not often heard God’s Word of love and compassion, quickly spoke: “I am so sorry Tammy.” The woman in the car also said: “I am so sorry. He didn’t mean to hurt Tammy. Please forgive him.” I said: “Of course we forgive him because God first forgave us! May God’s love and peace be with you both.” And we handed him his hygiene bag filled with hygiene products along with a Our Daily Bread. Sharing God’s love is the heart of God’s Hygiene Help Center. Praise God! Evening Blessing: May you dare to keep walking even though quitting feels like the easier thing to do. May you dare to look up even though the weight of your burden compels you to look down. May you dare to dream about the future even though the enemy would love for your past to have the last say. Keep walking, look up, and dare to dream. Jesus invites you forward. Don't give up. And sleep well tonight. #SusieLarsonBlessings Psalm 123:1 ~I lift my eyes to you, O God, enthroned in heaven.
