GOD'S HYGIENE HAS A WAREHOUSE!4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:4-6 NIV Back in 2011 when God told Tammy to open a Help Center, He also told her that He would send the people with an education and experience as well as that one day she would be helping so many people that she would have a warehouse building. On Friday, June 12, Tammy Jewell, Founder, and Terry Starr, Executive Director, signed the lease for such a building. Securing the warehouse has been a group project. For months Terry and others have been praying and searching in the Linden area for just the right building. Tammy and Diane Hendrickson, Vice President, were driving on on an errand on Oakland Park Avenue when Tammy said, "Turn into this parking lot. I have watched this being built and now this is empty." So Diane took a photo of the phone number and the large sign saying Urgent Care Center and forwarded to Terry. Terry then shared with GHHC Board member Robin Lorms who knows about real estate. They met with Pedro the owner and came up with a deal. It's a great location--just 5 minutes from Tammy's home in the Linden area, across the street from Family Dollar where she frequently shops, and next door to Donato's where police officers like to frequent plus they donated pizza for previous God's Hygiene events. We will have a warehouse with 2 new garage doors to easily unload and store hygiene products. On the right will be a door for clients to place an order from the Help Center. Upstairs will be several rooms for an office. Pedro is installing new windows, siding and cleaning the building up for us. Bob Apel with his architect background visited to give opinions on layout plan. He will also sketch out a plan for a mural instead of a sign on the large outside wall. Thank you to Nancy Gillette who looked over the contract and lease as an attorney. Tammy's brother, Ross Jewell, is an experienced construction worker who will help with the renovations. We get possession on July 1 and are planning our grand opening and backpack giveaway on August 1, 2020. Hurrah! Our God keeps his promises! Howey blessing box![]() Thank you to wonderful volunteers who offered to build a Blessing Box for God's Hygiene. The Columbus Blessing Boxes Project even sent them building directions. It is located in the yard at 3022 Howey Road. Tammy began the Help Center in this neighbor's garage back in 2011. So they still keep her lawn mowed as repayment. This box has been such a blessing to the neighborhood. Mostly children are visiting so it is now stocked with peanut butter crackers, small boxes or raisins and some other snacks. Neighbors have been just as anxious to stock it with food as others have been getting much needed food. Thank you to Dick, Sue and Jim. Tammy watches who frequents the Blessing Box. One woman visited it 3 times in one day so Tammy followed her home. She is a grandmother trying to feed her preteen granddaughter with 6 jars of peanut butter. We then contacted our advisor Jim who was able to arrange delivery of a box of food. A young man with a pony tail and tattoos was standing beside the box. Tammy asked him, "Do you need help or hygiene?" He answered with tears in his eyes, "I just got out of jail. All I want is Our Daily Bread. Thank you. This is all I need." He declined the hygiene and also only took a can of Spaghetti-O's. A few days later we were able to also give him an used pair of shoes. We are so grateful to Our Daily Bread for mailing 300 copies of this devotional every quarter to GHHC. Thank you to Sue's sister, Judy Shuff, who owns 2 pizza shops around Ohio. Judy came on June 29 to stock up the Blessing Box plus delivered 10 pizzas for free to Tammy's neighbors in need of a meal. When the sister heard about our Because School Matters backpacks giveaway, she also offered to donate pizzas! Thank you so much! The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. Tammy's wonderful sister-in-law, Julia Jewell, is teaching her grandchildren by example. She took them shopping at Morse Road Home Buys and they bought 30 pairs of beautiful dress shoes, socks and more which they delivered to God's Hygiene Help Center. Then she drove to the Georgesville Road Home Buys to purchase 30 more pairs at the amazing close out price. These shoes will be given out at our Grand Opening on August 1. When she heard that someone had emptied the Blessing Box overnight, they then went shopping for food to fill up the blessing box. Thank you Julia for being such a grand grandma and so generous with your in kind donations. These will be such a blessing to a number of families in need. Only God could have planned the timing. Two days later a neighbor girl knocked on Tammy's door. "It's my birthday and I am 11 years old." Tammy just asked her, "What size shoes do you wear?" So she and her sister were happy to receive new shoes and toothbrushes. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. 1 Timothy 6:18 NIV | |
packing hygiene bags for 2 giveaways
| God's Hygiene believes in giving back especially during this pandemic. We ordered beautiful pink bags for hygiene giveaways. Terry asked Kim Emch of SON Ministries if they could also use hygiene at their Hilliard summer lunch program. God's Hygiene shopped for and donated hygiene to pack the 125 Hygiene Bags. Noah and Charlotte Gehlert helped their grandparents Rick and Sandy Bowen pack the bags as a service project. On June 24, 5 different volunteers delivered SUV's full of these bags to the different lunch locations. Linden Life Fellowship and God's Hygiene Help Center volunteers packed for our second giveaway in the South Linden community. It took 22 volunteers less than an hour to pack 125 bags filled with detergent, PineSol, dish soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrush, bar soap, toilet paper and resources card. Thanks to Colleen Caruso for recruiting LLF volunteers and to Julia Jewell for supervising the packing. Fifty bags will be given away by the church and 75 bags will be delivered by LLF for the Go, Lunch! program at Douglas Community Center. |

![]() If you want an easy service project at your home computer, this is for you. Someone is needed to print a letter and tax exempt certificate monthly, mail or deliver to a store and coordinate the volunteers to pick up gift cards once a month. All documents are provided. We already have volunteers delivering letters and picking up cards at Graceland, Polaris, Hilliard and Sawmill Dublin Target stores. Please email us at godshygiene@gmail.org if you can help. Thanks! | This next story breaks our heart. Tammy's niece Takisha was named godmother for her cousin's baby boy, Frederick. Little 5 month old Frederick was born a twin. But his twin sister mysteriously drowned and died which is now under investigation. He was also born addicted to meth, heroin, and cocaine. Takisha already has two grown children she raised. The cousin asked her if she could watch Frederick. For how long? Forever! Takisha had never cared for an addicted baby before. So she prays to God for strength every day plus constantly has to comfort him. Takisha visited the welfare office and filed for emergency custody. She reached out to Tammy for assistance, and she referred her to the Baby Nook at St. Stephen's. GHHC had one $25 Target gift card to give her to help get needed baby items. Takisha said, "God is blessing me for blessing Frederick." We are also blessed to share where love wins! |

I want to love You and love people, serve the poor, and act justly. Keep me on Your path and away from sin. Keep my heart unspoiled by the world. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
