WELCOME TO OUR NEW VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
highlight on a volunteerI came to God's Hygiene Help Center in the summer of 2020 in need of help. After seeing what the ladies there were doing to help others in need, I soon asked to become a volunteer. I was once that person in need since I am in a recovery program. I am still in need, but in a different way. Now it is to help our community. Becoming a volunteer has kept me on the right path, and it feels good to give back what was so freely given to me. I love volunteering at God's Hygiene Help Center because they love serving the community as well as God. It makes me feel great about what I am doing. It all serves a purpose in life. Thank you to all of the ladies at God's Hygiene Help Center. You all have given me a new mission in life. I love you all and love working with you. Thank you Tammy, Diane, Terry and Lesley and all of the other volunteers: Maggie, Chris, Bonnie, Elizabeth and Reagan. Andrea is our Operations Manager Lesley's right hand helper in the warehouse, recording inkind donations, organizing stock, as well as greeting clients and filling their orders. Love, Andrea Y. 12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. ywca donations tammy's blessing boxTammy saw a man at the Blessing Box and his vehicle was actually blocking part of her driveway. "Hi. I'm Tammy. Excuse me, could you move your car up a little?" "Are you Tammy with God's Hygiene? I helped put the electric in the Help Center. My 3 children are hungry and I'm only taking enough food for me, my wife and family." Tim then shared that he had been in the wrong place at the wrong time at a gas station. He got shot in his arm and went into his stomach. It caused an infection and he had surgery to open his whole chest up. He ended up in intensive care for two months. Tim further said he had never been without work in his life. Tammy encouraged him to come to the Help Center to get hygiene. She also referred him to the Salvation Army to get a food box. donatos and ghhc working togetherDonato's on Oakland Park donated over a dozen pizzas for God's Hygiene project Because School Matters. We have met several of their employees and offered them hygiene in return. Tyrone as the manager has been able to bless us with pizza and we in turn bless him with dignity and hygiene items. Tyrone served two tours in Iraq for a total of six years and got PTSD and addicted. He became clean and now has a second chance job at Donato's. Thank you! tammy in her new office spaceThank you to so many amazing volunteers who helped renovate the upstairs of GHHC warehouse to create office space for Tammy. We are so grateful for God providing the donations of a new printer, almost new desktop computer, desk, and miscellaneous office supplies. Now Tammy can go upstairs where it is quiet to write her many thank you notes. My God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
