come support our fundraiser at the eagles clubThe Fraternal Order of Eagles is an international non-profit organization uniting fraternally in the spirit of liberty, truth, justice, and equality, to make human life more desirable by lessening its ills and promoting peace, prosperity, gladness and hope. The F.O.E. donates more than $10 million a year to local communities, fundraisers, charities and more. As part of its philosophy, the F.O.E. gives back 100 percent of monies raised in the form of grants. Fundraisers are conducted for eight major charities, including kidney, heart, diabetes, cancer and spinal cord injury funds, a children's fund, memorial foundation and the Golden Eagle Fund. Several GHHC volunteers recently joined the Linden Fraternal Order of Eagles. They learned that the Eagles supports a number of charities including local nonprofits. On initiation night, Diane asked how do you become one of those nonprofits. She submitted a proposal at the next meeting of the Eagles Auxiliary and they approved sponsoring a Steak Dinner Fundraiser for God's Hygiene Help Center! We were able to contact a fabulous band which was available on the same night and the Eagles again approved to pay for the band. Tammy will have a resource table that evening to share about our mission serving the community. So plan to have a date night and come out for a delicious steak dinner and dancing! When you arrive, just push the doorbell and hold the door knob to be buzzed in. Order your dinner at the counter. Cash is preferred. Have a seat and GHHC volunteers will bring your dinner plates to your table. Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for God has already approved what you do. bible bowl challengersThis past Saturday we were so thrilled to have a group of young men who participate in the Bible Bowl Challenge and their mentors donate their time to GHHC. They put together products for various outreach programs and were uniquely gifted at writing Scripture versed notes to each. Were were especially blessed to hear their recitation of numbers Bible verses. We thank them for their time, help and the wonderful donations they brought. 23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though you were working for the Lord and not for people. Colossians 3:23 GNT our police liaison![]() Officer Bill regularly stops by God's Hygiene Help Center to say hello. On May 16 he came by. He said to Tammy, "If I could push was a a magic button to God, I would wish for God's Hygiene to have a new big building with running water and a bathroom. God's Hygiene does more to help this community both physically and mentally." Thank you Officer Bill. We are also praying and looking for a larger building in the Linden community to serve the ever increasing number of clients we help each month. Will you join us in praying for the right building? Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request. 1 Chronicles 4:10 ghhc supports community eventVolunteers David Pickett and Diane Hendrickson shared resources and information about God's Hygiene Help Center at the Spring into Summer event on May 22, 2024. This is the annual celebration of the end of the school year hosted at the Ohio History Connection Museum (800 17th Ave Columbus, Ohoi 43211) at the Ohio Village. GHHC gave away sanitizing wipes, small hand sanitizers, Bibles, flyers about our hours, and free community resources such as food pantries located close to GHHC. Families received lots of resources from Recycle Columbus, the City of Columbus, City Year, a preschool on Cleveland Avenue plus a free boxed dinner. Their children really loved playing in the bouncy houses, hula hoops and trying out the antique bicycle. We were happy that the event was held at The Ohio Village since this was David's first time visit. Such a fun evening for us and for the Linden community! partnership with mary kay consultantsDiane reconnected with Paula Fistick, a friend from high school youth fellowship who also happens to be a retired Columbus City teacher and now a Mary Kay Director. Paula shared with Kathryn, our GHHC Executive Director, that Mary Kay and God's Hygiene share some of the same values--God, family, and helping others. She asked if Tammy could share her story with her consultants plus how God told her to open up a help center back in 2011. The women donated Mary Kay products that GHHC can then use in future Clean Start Baskets or to treat our clients. Thank you Paula and to the Mary Kay consultants. After our presentation, Paula texted this message: "OMGoodness! Tammy and Diane were amazing! The two of you left quite a stir among the consultants. Ideas are flowing as to how to incorporate God's Hygiene into our Mary Kay world. Thank you!" We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5:20 To arrange for Tammy to share with your organization, please contact Kathryn Farrar, Executive Director of GHHC at [email protected] new partnership with franklin county dog shelter![]() Tammy regularly visits the Franklin County Dog Shelter dogs.franklincountyohio.gov to pick up 30-50 pounds of dog food each month. So many of our clients live in their vehicles with their animals and have no dog license and no way to qualify to pick up free dog food. So Tammy asked the director. He said, "Oh my, we would love to partner with God's Hygiene to share resources. We would be willing to donate 100 pounds of dog food each month. Also please bring us some client order forms." As Tammy was leaving, the director a woman to run out to her. She had 3 dogs in her van with no dog licenses so she was ineligible to pick up any free dog food from them. Tammy was able to give her 20 pounds of dog food, her card and shared GHHC's hours with her. She started to cry and was so grateful. "Thank you!" Tammy said, "No, thank Jesus. It's all from Him!" Father, You will fulfill Your purpose for us, and we praise You for that! Your purpose is better, Your plans are better, and Your process is better! We praise You for being righteous in all Your ways and we thank You for being so very kind to us in all Your ways. Have mercy on me, a sinner. We repent of our sins and turn to You and we ask You to make our hearts clean. We confess our rebellion and thank You for not giving us what we deserve. You are so much better than fair—You even extend Your common grace and common mercy to those who don’t know or love You! Give us eyes to see the kindness You’ve extended to us in ways big and small, in ways common and specific. We get to breathe Your air and enjoy Your creation, we get to taste delicious food, we have access to tools and technology that helps us understand Your Word that didn’t exist for any prior generations. You have done us SO MUCH GOOD. We surrender our lives to You, Lord—every moment of our day, each decision we make, we yield our will and way to Your perfect will and way. We love You too. Amen.
